^ That.

'Normality' is overrated anyway...you are who you are, and changing that to be 'normal' is pointless, because you will never get there...[if that makes sense at all]

but to contradict the "socially acceptable" thing - that's always changing too. With every generation, every technological advancement, every celebrity scandal.

It's considered "socially acceptable" and "Normal" for boys to ask girls for nudes now. But when my grandparents or even my mother were children, something like that would have disgusted and shocked the general public.

I can kind of see "Normal" somehow correlating with "Respect" and what behavior the word currently implies or excuses.

Yeah.

But it doesn't really matter how societies changing, because what's considered 'normal' does too.

Today, it's normal for there to be divorced parents and working mothers. 50 years ago that would be condemned. It changed with society.

We wouldn't necessarily be considered 'normal' by our parents or grandparents.

People say "normal" is whatever stereotypes exist.
"normal" is an excuse to say you're opposed to new ideas.

that's what I mean
we can't pinpoint a definition because it will change again in another 5 years.
It's just a never ending cycle.

To me Normal has always been what society sees to be acceptable. No more no less. :]

I think that people consider the majority of similarities in a society to be normal, the minority to be the people who range farthest from these similarities, the minority being unusual or not normal.

If you know what I mean.

We all have our own little quirks. To have flaws is to be normal.
To be perfect is weird.
