But life does suck!!! Seriously I mean you help someone out they stab you in the back. Most people here are dying all around me people are sick with cancer, mental disorders, Hep C, burning each other and dissing each other. I'm in a shitty area where the only thing you can do is get high, go to a bar or have sex with people that have Hep-C or insane. I used to be postive I was going to school doing normal shit like everyone else then I got involved with this guy. He wasn't emo but he suffered from anxiety and depression and I lived in his home and I started doing dope. I had to save him from gassing himself and do I get a thanks a lot or anything? I get kicked out the fucking door. My mom helped someone out he got her kids taken away, he got her addicted to coke then after taking him in from off the streets he broke her heart and left her homeless.

Life sucks!!! That's why I'm emo cause all I wanna do seriously is do another blast or die and I've tried to get over everything but its the pain in the fucking ass. I wear what I want and if it has an emo flavour to it why should people always pick on me for wanting to look the way I want. I wear tight jeans, black band shirts and fit a stereotype but I have more to worry about then if I fit in with a stereotype or if its bad I like to follow it. I'm sick of people raging on the way emos and scenes dress. How about all the people that like to rage on peoples clothes can go and get a fucking life. I love being myself and it somehow works with a stereotype. Why should it matter?

people conform... then there are people who start from a basis of a fashion and build their or fashion/ stereotype off of that...

i understand alot of people conform... but it appears to me that the people who confrom and fit the stereotype are the only people getting heard WHY?.... because its what other people want to hear... they want something to make fun of

self mutilation never started because emo people did it, it has grow bc some people make it seem cool, like drinking or smoking... but self mutilation is also self hate... i only believe people who brag about it are trying to conform, and want attention... but if u r ashamed that u do it then no one knos ur conforming so whats the point, therefore they are not conforming but got the idea from someone or something else to do it and found it to be a good relief

i understand what ur saying, but u cant say that all people who dress emo are conformists, is the person who first started dressing emo a conformist when they were the one who started it only now they would seem to be copying everyone

there are people who do conform and are only trying to mirror someone else which i believe is RIDICULOUS... if u dress emo but u find a preppy item of clothing cute... then buy it... wear wat u want not what others want just cause its 'instyle'... be urself, and if ur doing that then i believe ur the farthest thing from a conformist

I said I just people that are fake. And conformists are fake people.

They have an identity, but let something larger, a label, a "tag" define who they are. Maybe their personalities shine through, fantastic. Doesn't change the fact that one day you decided to wear tight girl pants, black t-shirts with guts and blood all over them, and look up guides on "how to be emo."

You guys didn't start out with this identity you let yourself become assimilated into it. If anything your assimilating into a "clique" not "emo". Emo doesn't exist. Like I said, it's scene fashion. It CAN define what arch-type music you listen to, but hell who am I to judge what music you listen to?

Continue to be ill-informed and continue to say "well I am emo it's just who I am." no, your just a tool and your all the same. Hey let's check every ones user name and avatar. Oh hey, a bunch of stereotypical "emo" shit like XXXXX at the front and end of every name.

See where I'm getting this from? Experience with living through High School and Junior High, and actually going through the stages your going through now. It won't make sense now, but it will when you mature and grow up a little more.

I've been browsing this forum a lot again, I'm pretty sure I made an account sometime last year but can't remember my password, oopsie.

I agree with 90% of what you're saying but a few points I disagree with.

Cutting: Why? Because it's fucking self mutilation. Your causing harm to yourself and it's not helping anything. You can deal with your problems in more healthy ways.

I agree that there are better ways to deal with your problems and it pisses me off to no end when people cut to "be emo" but people who self-harm do it because a lot of the time it's the only way they know to cope. You can't just say "don't do it, it's stupid" as it's an addiction. A lot of people who seem to self-harm have depersonalisation symtoms and feel like they're detached from the world and it makes them feel less 'numb' Obviously they should get help but telling people simply not to do it and how there are better ways to cope won't help.

Look at the people who lived through the 70's and 80's. Clothing and style is always changing. Who knows, in the future tight pants might be the norm, but you never know. Do you see anyone tromping around in disco pants? Hippies were all about not judging and loving everybody. But this was helped by mind altering drugs and anti-war. Even then it dissipated.

I don't know about other countries but here (the UK) skinny jeans (tight pants) are the norm /: my friend Emily (who if you looked at her you would think she was an everyday girly girl) always wears skinny jeans. A lot of 'preps' I know wear skinny jeans.

But overall I agree with your post. Gracias.
