It's actually a very very funny book!
I loved it

EVERYBODY HURTS OWNS.
Honestly. "Gerard Way 'playing with himself' takes on a whole different meaning."
Also, Everybody Hurts has a list of "suggested emo reading".

Emo Boy Volume One: Nobody Cares About Anything Anyway, So Why Don't We All Just DIE. Best comic ever.

Also, anything by Oscar Wilde, Edgar Allen Poe, and Ernest Hemingway is bound to get you emo cred.

I dont understand how these books are Emo?
you know, since it's considered a music genre n' all..
plus. all books have a tinge of drama and sadness. that's what makes it interesting.

THE TIME TRAVELERS WIFE. go read. now. o.o

Thirteen Reasons Why is an amazing book. I can't name the author off the top of my head though Confused Sorry.
The book is told from the point of view of a teenage guy who recieves cassette tapes in the mail that have the recordings of a girl who had committed suicide. It goes through his emotions and reactions as he hears the "thirteen reasons why" she did what she did. The way it is written is amazing and the story told on the tapes (You get to read exactly what the tapes were saying the same time as you hear the guy's thoughts-amazing) keep you interested the whole time through.

Fruits Basket... it's a manga. Don't be fooled by the pastel covers. Basically every once in a while the whole panel gets black while a character is in their little emo corner... let me thing of all the little emo-nesses. Hmm one character is an outcast from his family, one character has self-esteem issues, one character was forced to dress at the opposite gender their whole life, one character wears all black because she accidentaly almost killed someone... it goes on and on lol. but it's an awesome manga! It's not all emo haha.
