i am anorxic myself and i find it really hard when ppl laugh at me.

i was anorexic/bulimic the reason behind it is because people always think aww stupid lttle grils obbsessed with size 0 and victoria beckham so they laugh when most of the people affected have serious problems with their mental state / meaning worries not crazy .. i ve been to many places i have been given so many days to live a few times my body would have started to use my heart a fule im better now but im still under weight but its not as bad but at the time i had gone through alot of crap and didnt care what happend so i didnt bother but its really not a funny topic and it does kill people

because people are just plain mean.. especially gurls.. they hurt other girls.. so that they oculd feel better about themselves... and you just happen to be the victim... and the fact that you have an illness makes it better for them coz its easier to make you feel bad about yourself..

hey hey, i completely agree i wish there were more ppl like you who actually undertand what is happeing.

Anorexia is like alcoholism people who do not have it or kno it dont understand it
You cant tell a alcoholic to stop drinking cose he cant its the same with anorexic people you cant tell them to eat cose they just cant

people are just cruel and don't get that it's not about just looking good
or being a size zero they don't take in whats going on in someone mind
also people laugh or form hate about things they don't understand, most people anorexia is forein and unrelatable to the them selves.

A friend of mine was anorexic for about a year.. It wasn't easy to talk with her because (don't ask me why) everything we talked about we came to her anorexia!! I now (or I think) that it isn't so by all anorexic people..
I wouldn't laugh at ppl who ARE because I know that it's hard and they don't need more problems. It's the same by depressions or other psychogenic illnesses.
The ppl who laugh at such peoples just don't know how it is and how to behave toward such people who have really problems.. why they laugh I don't know but it's the worst thing that they can do in such a situation

They laugh because they think it's a choice. That if y ou 'eat a cheeseburger' you will be magically cured. It's lack of understanding of the subject of eating disorders and psycological disorders as a whole, of which anorexia/bulemia has the highest rate of death.

People are arseholes (assholes for the Americans ) and the only thing that can be done is ignore them (or find stuff to insult them with)

According to the Body Mass calculator on the first page, I'm just on healthy weight (i.e. 18.5) but I'm not sure of my height exactly... :\

Keep in mind the BMI is flawed to a degree. It can class a bodybuilder as morbidly obese.

But I consider myself skinny anyway, to the point where each rib is visible....

I've got a bit of muscle but next to no fat at all (although people are meant to have 8% or something...)

I don't mind though

Exactly. The BMI is an instrument only capable of giving a 'good' diagnosis to women and girls. And girly-men.
