He finally met Matt Good when he was 15 through MySpace. Matt told him that their guitar player had quit and that they were looking for a new one. Sonny then when out to Valdosta, Georgia where they were recording the new record. After the band heard him sing "Featuring Some of Your Favorite Words", they decided to make him the lead vocals. After that, the band wrote all the vocals with Sonny in just a week.
Sonny is now in good terms with his adoptive parents. His parents had told him he was adopted when he was 15, right before he joined FFTL. At first he had been really mad at them because they never told him, he had also first heard it through another person.
Since then Sonny and FFTL have decided to part ways in February of 2007, some say due to a "bad" year, but the real reason is unknown for now. Sonny announced that he would continue to make music as a solo artist. His first album, Bells, is set to be released sometime this year, and he has uploaded some recorded demos of the featured songs on his myspace. Sonny also began his first ever tour since going solo. It started November 29, 2007- December 16 of the same year. During this tour Sonny anounced that he would be making some 'special gifts' for a few selected lucky fans. "This tour is going to be a very special tour." Said Moore on his official Myspace. "Aside from the fact that there will be other incredible artist performing, it will also be my first tour after all the big changes."
Sean Friday (drums), Chris Null (guitar) and Danny Sternbaum (programming/synths) would be joining him on this adventure as well.
"I would also like to add that I am not signed to a record label which means as of now there is no tour support money. We will be selling t-shirts and hoodies. Also, we will be selling CDs with all of my demos (including ones you haven't heard) and never before heard remixes of the demos too. They are all individually packaged in baby blue envelopes, each with hand drawn signatured art that sean and I stayed up two nights in a row doing. Will also include Two Pins and a sticker. There are only 500 of these (about 30 per show) and each one's art work is different and unique from the other."
Now Sonny is set to be featured in the AP (Alternative Press Magazine) Tour of 2008. The tour kicks of March 14- May 2 of 2008.
